Valley of Flowers Trek is a trek to a vast valley settled in the vicinity of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. Arrive at Ghangaria. After moving around 4 Km packed lunch is served. I am happy that I choose THRILLOPHILIA in terms of trek leaders like Dinesh Ji, Jaydeep bhaiya and Of course Sandeep bhaiya the man with full of caring and understanding and the awesome trekking group. As I always wanted to visit VOF and hemkund because of its mesmerizing view. One such place in the state of Uttarakhand is the Valley of Flowers. The trek was amazing. It opens up in June 1st week and closes down in 1st week of October almost every year. All Meals ( vegetarian) starting from Day 1 dinner to Day 5 dinner, including breakfast, hot/packed lunch, dinner with tea/soup. When you are interior parts of Himalayas you can hardly be sure of cell phones networks. Clothing and equipment to be carried during Valley of Flowers trek include:- A pair of lightweight pants to wear at night - Wool jumpers or lightweight fleeces- Full sleeve t-shirts and warm shirts- Thermal inners- Scarf, woolen cap, and inner fleece gloves- Raincoats (In case it rains)- Sunscreens and Lip Balms- Insulated water bottles being able to hold 2 liters of water at a time- Waterproof covers for bags- Personal Medications and Toiletries- A walking stick or a trekking pole- Torch/Flashlights with spare batteries- Comfortable and waterproof trekking shoes- Dry fruits like figs, cashews, almonds, walnuts, Protein bars, and chocolates.- One pair of thick woolen socks and 4-5 pairs of normal socks. This National Park is truly a botanist’s dream, an ornithologist’s charm, a photographer’s excitement and a hiker’s delight. The Valley Of Flowers Trek is an easy trek suitable for first time trekker with basic fitness. Admire one of nature’s finest creations as you are left speechless witnessing an array of thousands of flowers in full bloom. Hemkund Sahib is the world’s largest gurudwara situated at 4239 meters altitude. Second and the last climb is from Bhyunder village to the Helipad ground from where Ghangaria is another Kilometre walk. I'd like to request Thrillophilia guys to please take a look into this. This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic Black bear, snow leopard, brown bear and blue sheep. However, you are also advised to carry personal toiletries. Next day, we started to Ghangharia and the view was spectacular. According to a legend, the river was named Pushpawati by the Pandavas when they saw flowers floating on the waters of this snow fed river. However, in case they aren’t fit enough to do that then they could be carried by porters and mules which are available to carry people and their personal luggage. Pay heed to the trek leader or instructor in order to enjoy a safe and sound trekking experience. Enjoy the serene beauty of rare alpine wildflowers like blue poppy, Cobra Lily, Geranium, Marsh etc. Do not consume alcohol or any other intoxicants during the trek. The Everest, one of the most sought after tourist destination in Nepal is known for its incandescent beauty with the magnificent peaks and hills. The flowers valley is located in chamoli district and it is easily accessible . If you are not sure about carrying your own backpack, you have the option to offload the bag and carried by horse. Though the paved walk till Ghangaria is not much of worth, but the things change completely inside Valley of flowers. It was an amazing trek and beyond my imagination. There are number of private hotels and lodges serving to the tourists and pilgrims. Valley Of Flowers was discovered by Frank Smythe and his team of mountain explorers. You can refill your water bottles at the hotels that line the trail. This biome is home for more than 500 species of vascular plants, 160 + species of birds and other insects and mammals.
